The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão, will once again host a MotoGP World Championship, replacing the stage initially scheduled for Australia on the calendar on 7 November.

The circuit organization announced the cancellation of the Phillip Island Grand Prix due to travel limitations imposed by restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, and decided to choose the Algarve circuit again to host the 18th and penultimate race of the season, a week earlier the race in Valencia, which ends the championship.

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, it should be remembered, hosted on April 18 the third race on the calendar, after having also hosted a race in 2020, then with victory by the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira.
